The F-84F Thunderstreak is a turbojet fighter bomber designed by
Alexander Kartveli and manufactured Republic Aviation.
In July 1950, the F-84F entered production. The F-84F was not
declared operational until May 1954 due to production, control and
stability problems. In 1955, the entire fleet of F-84F was grounded
due to engine failures. As the result of the problems, the active
duty phaseout began almost as soon as the F-84F entered service in
1954 and was completed in 1958. In the mid-1960s, the F-84F was
replaced by the F-100 Super Sabre and in 1971. The primary user of
the F-84Fs is the United States Air Force.
The F-84F Thunderstreak is a swept wing version with Wright J65
engine. It has a crew of 1. The F-84F has a maximum speed of 605 mph
